While Pistol Pat's offers a vast selection of comfort food, a few diners express disappointment regarding wait times during peak hours, especially on weekends. The Sunday brunch crowd can lead to longer waits for both seating and food. Some suggest that the diner could benefit from adding more staff during busy periods to improve the dining experience further. Additionally, while many love the atmosphere, a few feel that the diner can become a bit noisy when packed. Lastly, while most dishes are praised, occasional inconsistencies in preparation can lead to a mixed bag when it comes to certain meals.
Don't pass this up. We almost drove right by this little gem. I am so glad we stopped. The building looks smaller than it is. The staff is cheerful and welcoming. The food is large and delicious. Many comfort food options on the menu. We had the Jumbo Cheeseburger (1/4 pound beef patty), Crinkle fries, Pork Tenderloin sandwich (wow!), and Grilled Ham and Cheese. Coffee and Sweet tea. Ordered a chocolate cherry malt to go. The restaurant was very clean and the restroom was cute. Definitely will go here again next time we are back this day.
The food was really good. First time visiting and wasn't disappointed at all. The burgers were really good and the curly fries. Definitely plan on going back when I'm in Grove again. Has breakfast options as well as other delicious food. Recommend trying it.
We love this place. Food is always good. Service is always great. Home town atmosphere, just like ya want. This has become one of our favorite places to eat, especially for breakfast, when we come into Grove.
Food was good home style home cooking. Rolls are to die for. Pie was very yummy. Best part was that our older waitress thoroughly seemed to enjoy her job. She was so nice.
First time here. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, seated with a menu and drink order taken. They have breakfast all day plus lunch and dinner with a soup and salad option on the menu. I ordered the BBQ Brisket sandwich with crinkle fries and an ice water. It was very tasty. Brisket was very tender and they didn't skimp on the portion size. Relaxing atmosphere. Very clean. Will definitely be back.
I drove up 20 minutes before they closed on Friday night and they couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. The fried catfish and hushpuppies were the best Ive had in many years. Ill be back!
Excellent service, food and atmosphere.
You can't miss the chicken fried steak; it's hand-cut and expertly prepared. Also, the BBQ brisket is a fan favorite. For those with a sweet tooth, the homemade desserts and ice cream treats are perfect to end your meal.
